Sylvia Plath

It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

my current thoughts
I don’t want people to think of Boston and think of those cowardly acts that took place. I want people to think of Boston and think of the pride, passion and perseverance. All of the things that make Boston the greatest place to call home.

“There’s something particularly devastating about an attack on a marathon. It’s an epic event in which men and women appear almost superhuman. The winning men run for hours at a pace even normal fit people can only hold in a sprint. But it’s also so ordinary. It’s not held in a stadium or on a track. It’s held in the same streets everyone drives on and walks down. An attack on a marathon is, in some ways, more devastating than an attack on a stadium; you’re hitting something special but also something very quotidian.”

a beautiful read

boston, i love you.

a few days ago my friend sent out a text suggesting we watch the sunrise on the beach sometime. we all immediately responded with “yes!“‘s and decided why not this weekend?

so with a 5:50 am wake up call, a stop at starbucks and a blanket, we watched the sun rise on the beach.

and it was one of those “life is amazing” moments

In the end, only three things matter:
how much you loved, how gently you lived,
and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.
Buddhist saying (via dulcetdecember)
you will be stupid. you will worry your parents. you will question your own choices, your relationships, your jobs, your friends, where you live, what you studied in college, that you went to college at all… if that happens, you’re doing it right.

health kick

i’m a little late with my new year’s resolutions….but i’m currently in the middle of a “health kick”. i don’t eat the healthiest at college. it’s hard with the late night munchies, the multiple hours spent in the library and meetings to have a set schedule of working out and eating right. i would like to say that i ate healthier at home, and i’m sure i did, since my mom was cooking for me after all, but in all honesty, my metabolism has slowed down in the past two years (or maybe we can blame it on the alcohol and constantly having chocolate in my apartment, either way).

i go through stints of working out a few days in a row, but then i have a long day of work or a lot of homework to do and next thing i know i’m back to my old routine, but not this week!

i’m stopping the soda drinkage this week, which will be hard. but i’m keeping a full bottle of water next to me at all times! and i’m going to work out every day, whether it be running or jillian michaels’ yoga dvd- which i did today. check!

workin’ on my fitness. or, let’s hope!
